Accountant | Sundus - Dubai

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire a Accountant at Sundus to join our expanding team. You will work and provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.

  • Reviewing reports on project budgets, monitoring and controlling expenditures and payments for projects to ensure that the objectives set for projects are achieved in accordance with the priorities, objectives, budget and costs.
  • Consolidating effective communication with the concerned project managers to ensure acceptance of the budget, reviewing the requirements and proposals of the concerned departments, and evaluating the impact of change requests and instructions on the budget of major projects.
  • Designing reporting forms and files in order to standardize and integrate budgets and reports on the activities of the sectors.
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Files required tax forms.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Providing technical assistance in cost analysis, distribution of financial resources, budget preparation, summarizing budgets, and making recommendations for approval or rejection of requests and proposals for budgets of major projects

  • Qualifications and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in Dubai
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical skills related to tax preparation, review and compliance.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
