The General Accountant is responsible for processing, recording, updating and reconciling accounting transactions with accuracy and efficiency in accordance with the company methods and policies ensuring the integrity of accounting information.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire a General Accountant AT Barefoot Trading UAE to join our expanding team.
We are looking a generala accountant with an analytical mind and fantastic organizational skills. Accountants are expected to be detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

Supervises and maintains a documented system of the accounting procedures of the company and audits the work of the accounts department

Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases

Prepares and reviews the company's budget with ongoing cost reduction analyses, reports to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances

Monitors banking activities of the company and reconciles bank statements to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements

Monitors loans, credit terms and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date

Interprets the company's financial results to management and recommends improvement activities

Prepares and presents financial statements and reports for management and external agencies

Files tax returns in line with local regulations

Hires and trains team members to meet their targets and goals; coaches and disciplines as necessary

Monitors the team's progress and proposes improvements on an ongoing basis

Ensures adherence to local regulations and company policies

Any other duties as specified

Qualifications and Certification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent certifications

Experienced in a similar role in retail / trading industry for at least 5 years, with supervisory responsibilities for 2 years

Knowledgeable in general bookkeeping and banking

Able to work under pressure

Able to join immediately preferred

Ability to work independently

Analytical skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong technical skills related to tax preparation, review and compliance.

Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
