Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire an Accountant at Sukoon Insurance UAE to join our expanding team.
We are looking a Accountant with an analytical mind and fantastic organizational skills. Accountants are expected to be detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

  • Follow the month end procedures and ensure timely and accurate closure of general ledger for UAE entities.
  • Ensure that the GL balances reported are aligned with the supporting documentations (front end systems, data provided by other functions)
  • Maintain the month end manual adjustments register related to underwriting (Life and Non Life)
  • Maintain Fixed Assets, Prepayments, Accruals registers etc.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies adopted in the company
  • Ensure strict internal controls for OF transactions Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Support BS reconciliation team to clear reconciling items related to GL accounts and provide supporting documents.
  • Ensure that internal audit issues related to general ledger are monitored and closed timely
  • Support the Regulatory reporting team during audits to provide the necessary data/information from GL Other
  • Supporting specific financial projects related to controllership function.
  • Support External and Internal audits

  • Qualifications and Certification

  • Knowledge on accounting principles, Internal controls,
  • Knowledge on Microsoft office applications (Excel, Power point, Visio etc.).
  • CIMA, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (Full or Part qualification)
  • 2- 4 years experience in similar role. Insurance background is an advantage
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles
  • Experience in working on IFRS17 implementation is an advantage
  • Experience in working on Oracle Finance is an advantage
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to join immediately preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical skills related to tax preparation, review and compliance.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
